One of the first accessories I recommend that iPod owners buy is a case to protect their new toy. And despite the high-quality, scratch-resistant screen used in the iPhone, the same holds true for iPhone owners. A case just makes sense – whether it’s to make the phone easier to hold or prevent scratches to the back of the phone.

And if you’re looking for a good, basic iPhone case, the DLO Jam Jacket for iPhone is a good bet.

The DLO Jam Jacket for iPhone does pretty much what you’d expect it to: wraps the iPhone, but not the screen (since it’s a touch screen, it needs to be uncovered), in a stretchy, easy-to-grip silicone case that protects the phone while retaining access to important things like the camera, proximity sensor, and dock connector.

The Jam Jacket for iPhone also goes one step better in that it, like all the Jam Jacket models, has a section on the back for storing the earbuds and cord. This section lets you wrap the earbuds and cord around it and then fit the earbuds into two little divots, making it easier to neatly store and transport the iPhone.

The Jam Jacket’s case is a snap to get on and off the iPhone since it’s stretchy. The nubs on the side improve gripping the iPhone. Though you can charge the phone while in the case, you can’t use Apple’s included dock, which doesn’t have the extra room the case would require.

The only real downside of the DLO Jam Jacket for iPhone is that it smells a little funny. The odor coming from the case – due, most likely, to the material it’s made from – was fairly strong when I first got it. After about 5 day’s use, the odor has mostly subsided, though I still get a whiff of it from time to time.

As time goes on, it seems likely that the odor will disappear completely and I’ll be left with a really good iPhone case. And there’s nothing wrong with that.

Thats true but my shield thing is not form apple, they also have a lifetime guarantee, and I put it to the test by scratching it on the edge of the table and it works well... I will post a review on it soon

They are actually really nice, but I chose not to buy one because I think they take away the beauty of the iPhone, instead I use the Protech Shield

i used to have the protect shield but i took it off....i might put one back on. put i got a casemate leather case for when i go to parties and stuff and people will bump into me or ask to play with it. if the thing costs so much money....im not gunna wrap it with something they make livestrongs with. im puttin that bad boy in leather.

the jam jacket though is pretty nice. just not my taste. i love how u can wrap the headphones around the back....great idea
